Air Traffic Control

Just wondering if any pilots out there have pursued this as an option. I go to Purdue and they are one of 13 colleges that the FAA selects controllers from, and I was curious how it went. I'm hanging up the wings and pursuing this. If anybody has some insight please let me know. Thanks!
