Looking for the latest on Air Tahoma. Has there been any real changes since the August accident. Is there a new DO? CP? Do of Mx. How about the the pay to start in the right seat.........is it better than before. How long for captain upgrades? Hearing from a current person flying the line would be good. Lets have the whole low down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No changes in management. Considering that the investigation isn't complete, any placing of blame anywhere would be premature wouldn't it?

Pay scales have gone up definitely since 6 months ago. Right-seaters are looking at $18K for the first year right now, possibly more if they work a few extra days a month. After 12 months, pay is based on a per-day callout, trip completion, and then a mileage pay (Statue Miles) for the revenue legs with a garunteed minimum miles per month, and a retention bonus paid out through the year.

Can't say much on Captain upgrades right now. It's gonna primarily depend on how many new planes we get, how many new contracts we get, etc. I wouldn't think that under 24 months would be out of the question if you come in fairly to your ATP minimum hours. Right now's a good time to get aboard though. We're looking at the next 580 class starting in November, and I'm sure we'll be getting another 240 class through at some point as well.

We're growing the fleet pretty rapidly, so I know that there are both left and right seat opprotunities available for the 580, so if you meet the minimums, you're about garunteed an interview. Only caveat right now is that they want you to move to Columbus. If you live close to MEM, CLE, or PIT I think they're willing to work with you on it, but mostly they're looking for pilots to be in Columbus for charter work.

I know a couple of pilots on the line lurk around here. Maybe you'll get lucky and one will talk about the line ops. I only hear what they tell me on the phone or when they're in the office, so I won't presume to speak for them.

Women Pilots

I heard Air Tahoma just hired 14 pilots, then all but three quit during or just after training. Does anyone know if they hire women pilots? Were any of them women? How many do they currently have? I hope that they are an equal opportunity employer.

Been some changes now I heard.. Is it true thethere has been a D.O. change ?? I know that the good DR.Raptor has been cooked.

Shows how far kissing arse will get you

Chirs T shure got his pee-pee whacked off by the Rudes.... i'm not shure he had one to start with though. If you want to see some funny stuff, do a search of posts from DrRaptor. He pretty much got ran off this board too!

Everybody that hated him can hate me too, I got him hired there. Just goes to show you should be very careful on who you recomend...

does anybody know if this is this the company that ran the edge lights over with a convair 240 at Columbus Intl. on the postal run four years ago with a new captain and checkairman right seat. then swapped out aircraft in Indy by chance ???

After all the negative news about this outfit, I can only ask...where is the FAA in this story ? They aren't having any effect/input to the events ?

Seems the fuzz always turns a blind eye. I don't know why, but my guess is someone is on the payroll.

shorts,

Well, I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone. Years ago an FAA inspector friend of mine tried to shut down a scummy cargo operator ( not Tahoma ). He did the investigation and found that if anyone deserved to be shut down, this place did.

So, he does all the paperwork and hand-carries it to the regional office. A few weeks go by with no word. He calls the Head Shed to see what's up and is told the FAA isn't going to pursue it because...ready ?..."they're only flying cargo...".

True story...right from the original source. Nice, huh ?

I heard a rumor that the owner has alzheimers can anyone confirm this??? shouldnt the F.A.A. look a little deeper into this situation if he is the one making the operational calls???

No you are not wrong. I also believe the last african american pilot that they hired and fired all within a two week period.

Is anyone concerned about this?
