Air Sol (Sunshine)

The guys that fly for Air Sunshine out of Sarasota barely speak english. Not quite sure how they got around that with the FAA, or clearance for that matter) I wait patiently and wish I was kidding. They always depart VFR to MIA area (Ft. Laud) I fly alot to OPF, not sure how they do that at 5500 and 7500...but hey it's mostly out of the clouds. Leads me to believe not equipped with much for nav(GPS, RNAV, FMS). I dont know much other info than they have a few flights a day out of Sarasota, FL and do operate to bahamas. Not knocking the flights I did apply there with living in that area. Wish I was more help.

Any word if the FO position is PFT? I have some Bahamas experience, and would love an excuse to move to Flordia, but PFT is out of the question.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, How is it that they can fly to Cuba? I thought flying straight to cuba out of the states wasn't allowed? According to their website they fly to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and it's listed as a 4 hour flight? I didn't realize that it took 4 hours to fly from Fort Lauderdale - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. That's called pulling the power back to what, 35% power?

Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is a US military base. The reason it takes 4 hours is that the base is on the southeast side of the island and that the plane has to go AROUND Cuba to get to the airfield.
