Anyone go to the air show at Hill today? What a great show. Sean Tucker, Greg Poe, Tim Weber, F-117 and F-22 flybys, Thunderbirds... Just an all around great show. It's going on tomorrow as well and free to the public. The F-22's were by far the best performance. 4 ship low level fly by in afterburner. Wow. That airplane does things that appear to defy the laws of physics. When the 4 of them take off they go one after another straight into a zoom climb, appear to stop in mid air in the pure vertical, drop the nose to level flight and accelerate forward. Definitely worth seeing.

Sounds awesome. I haven't been to a good airshow in a long time. I bet those F-22s can do some amazing stuff, what with that 1.1:1 thrust/weight ratio they've got going.

Try not to rub it in. I spent a month trying to get out of work so I could go. To no avail, obviously...

Heritage formation

My favorite of the Hill AFB show was the formation flight of the P-51, F-4 Phantom, F-22 Raptor and the F-16. Three passes. What a camera shot. The Sunday Salt Lake Tribune got a shot that was in the Utah section. It may be seen at www.sltrib.com

I waited for the F-4 Phantom to fly and was amazed to see a Holloman bird there. Anyone know if these are drones that can still be flown with a pilot in the cockpit? I was in a guard unit with F-106's and remember the days of seeing Phantoms visit our unit.

Just curious, what aircraft was Sean D. Tucker flying for his performance?

That F-4 was probably part of the German Air Force. They have been training down at Holloman AFB for years. Designation is F-4F. Last I saw the drones were being done up at Mojave and then flown down to Tyndall AFB.

I agree about the F-22's! They were awesome! I've seen some neat SU-37 videos, but after watching the F-22 in person I'm willing to bet the F-22 would out maneuver the SU-37 hands down.
