$13, hobbs only.

About as crappy as you can get. Don't get me wrong they fly well maintained, new planes. The problem is that they charge $44 to the student and pay $13 to the CFI. Almost criminal.

None that I know of. Might give KISM and KSFB a try, but I think they are in the same boat as far as having too many instructors. At Air Orlando, instructors "hot-swap" desks because there isn't enough room for all of them. Most are part time because they have to work regular jobs to stay alive.

Can't freaking wait until it's my turn to attempt survival on $800/month :)

Come over to Melbourne, FIT is hiring for the fall semster (starting in Aug). Start at 15 and go up quickly (realisticly 18/hr after a year). Beyond that, well maintained A/C and more importantly LOTS OF STUDENTS provided by the university.

Orlando Flight Training out of Kissimmee (ISM) are always hiring like mad. Get about 100 hours a month right off the bat easy. But yes, sadly it's $10 an hour there too. Be ready to be raped.

Just not true. I Instructed at Air Orlando for about 16 months and never had to "hot-swap" my desk and knew nobody that worked there that ever did. Check your facts there. And as for the pay, you're right it isn't the greatest. Hopefully it will change soon. It is something they were working on while I was there and I was a big advocate in getting that changed. Air Orlando does however have the most diverse and new fleet of aircraft in Florida. If you want to fly Cirrus, Diamond, and G1000 equipped Cessna’s check this place out.

Air Orlando is not a pilot factory like most of the other flight schools in the Central Florida area. They specialize in training business professionals, and people that have careers other than flying. Customer service is the name of the game in this industry and Air Orlando leads it with nothing but the best quality aircraft, maintenance, and instructors.

Can you make more teaching somewhere else? Probably. But what will you be flying and what is the working atmosphere like? Sometimes it is not all about the money. Air Orlando was instrumental in helping me achieve my goals in aviation and I will always be grateful for that. Maybe what you need to do is take a look at the big picture.

My facts are checked and as of 10 hours ago, they are still sharing desks. 27 instructors and 12 cubicles. I will leave the math to you.

And since you brought it up, I don't see how you can "specialize" in training "business professionals" as opposed to anyone else that flys there. Give me a break. Anyone that walks in with money is going to get "specialized" training. Its all part 61.

Yes maintenance is timely, but it looks bad to customers to have planes flying 250 hours over tbo, which is the case with two of their 172's right now. Legal? Yes. Professional? No.

And I am sooo glad to see that dark haired surly hag of a dispatch clerk go. She was the epitomy of poor customer service. Numerous times I've had to interrupt her personal phone conversations to get a plane checked out. Nothing like paying $167/hr dual and getting ignored on a routine basis. Good riddance.

Just an opinion of a current "business professional" that flies there.

www.sunstateaviation.com at KISM starts at around 13.00/hr and you get normal raises depended on ratings you atain. Top out at 18.00/hr, one of the highest paid CFI jobs in Orlando area. And you don't have to wear a goofy pilot uniform. They get alot of resumes, so you may want to show up in person if you want the job. Oh by the way, they fly nice brand new G1000 equiped airplanes.
