In order to fly in the ANG do I have to be prior E? I was under the impression that like the Reserves I could go to OCS and then UPT is this not how it works? I would appreciate any insight or help thanks.
 
to get into the guard you dont have to be prior enlisted. it helps to have prior experience but theres definetely guys that get hired over people with prior enlisted experience. with the guard you dont go to OTS you go to another commissioning school. its called AMS-academy of military science and its only 6 weeks long instead of 13 weeks or whatever it is. yeah guard rocks....
