Anyone have any information on Air Logistics? They run helo's out to oil platforms and such. What do they pay and what are the real world quals? Is the quality of life good with an operation like this one? The website says 1000 pic with all endorsements. One of my buddies is looking to change over to be a rotorhead full time. As always, thanks for the help

I live not to far from their HQ and when I was in line service years ago I met a lot of the pilots. From what I have heard t is a very good company, lots of flying, but they do lose a lot of choppers a year. The flying is pretty dangerious. In fact they had these packs on the skids that I have never seen before, back then, and I was like what in the world is that? They said it was a floatation device for engine failures over water, they pop them and land and the chopper should float. Kinda cool. Anyway, I just remember that I use to read a lot about the choppers that went down in the marsh in south louisiana. Other than that, I have heard it is a good company. SOrry I couldn't have helped more. There is also PHI in Lafayette, Petrolium Helicopters Inc. He might want to look at them also, they have some pretty cool choppers.

Air Inc did and article on them several years ago. Pretty much what SD said but I don't know anything about them bending aircraft. Like I've stated before I'm not a Kitt supporter but do get the Magazine, your friend may be able to call Airinc and order the back issue for 5 bucks.

I think the reason they lose a few aircraft is just from the sheer volume of flying they do. They are in and out constantly and they fly in some pretty rough weather also. In fact down in LFT they have a procedure of following Hwy 80 up from the coast to the airport, it is the helo route, so they stay out of the way of fix wing. There is so much helo traffic down there that it is pretty dangerious to fly low VFR around there, really have to keep your eyes peeled. I haev almost hit a few in my days around there.

Good luck.
