Who gives a rats a$$ about London, that is what they want them for, the Heathrow Slots. I avoid London like the plague, the security hassles going through any of the London airports are far worse than here in the US. I use CDG or AMS when I have to go through europe. I can get to the same places with far less hassles and better service on Air France or KLM. Let someone else have VA......
 
They are looking to buy a share of Virgin Atlantic. No different than Lufthansa having a 20 something percent stake in jet blue. Currently Singapore Airlines holds 49% of VA. The new investors would take over that share and in exchange VA has expressed interest in being part of an alliance. VA has no plans on merging or losing their brand.
 
Virgin Atlantic has lost of lot of glamor over the last few years. Regarding service or even QOL I'd rather fly AFR than DAL...
 
Branson owns 51% of Virgin Atlantic and Singapore owns 49%. Singapore has been casually fishing for a buyer for a long time now.
