What exactly does an Air Battle Manager do? I'm guessing manage battles from the air.

The Short Answer Is...

Yep, as in E-3 mission crewmembers, to name a few.

They also fly in the back of C-130s assigned to ABCCC.

I believe the E-8C JSTARS have a Air Battle Manager as well. From what I know it is an Officer position and manages the back of the bus operations. You can probably do a search on google to find out more. I know the 116th in GA recruits them.
