Congratulations

What the heck. I've been applying for the past six weeks. I did the on-line application, I called Shawn, and per his request I faxed and mailed him my resume with cover letter. I recently spoke with him again in followup to the resume. Still, Aviationinterviewsdotcom is full of pilots with half my time.

mp, don't take that as an attack on you. Congratulations! Any idea how long you'll be practicing the back stroke? It sounds like they have a very exciting training program. Do start training soon, or not until they have need for you? How long after the interview until you heard back from them?

That is exciting that are able to accept pilots with lower hours. I think the industry needs more companies like that. It will help keep bad CFI's from teaching.

Again, best wishes mpflies2

Ya I'm very excited. Not sure on the wait, most of the people I know who have been hired in the past were in the pool 3-5 months...so thats what I'm expecting. No big deal on that. I knew I was in the pool that day, but will get a letter when they have a class date for me. Interview was challenging but not impossible. They seem to have a very good staff of people, and looking forward to working with them. Milwaukee is nice as well. Pretty nice break from Dallas.

Did you guys have an internal rec? Are they still using the MSFS sim for the interview?

Congrats!

Got a couple of friends who fly for ACC, two are captains now. One of them recently told me that ACC had 1000+ resumes. When any company gets that many, they can afford to be picky. I have heard recently that most, if not all, of the newhires are from internal recommendations. If ya don't know someone, you stand less of a chance of getting the interview than if you know someone. Time doesn't seem to matter. Even though you have more than 1000, it only takes somewhere around 500 to get called, so the folks with recs will get called before you. I had a former student get hired back in the spring. He did the MSFS sim check. He said it seems that will continue. They seem to keep hiring, and you'll only be swimming until the current class ends. Good luck to you all.

I got hired today as well. I think that all 5 people were hired today. That is great!!! Seems like a sweet company. I had no prior recommendation from anyone in the company, the guys that don't know anyone there, don't worry about it. They will call you.

Good luck to all. JG
