Thinking about using AC out of SYD to YVR next month... I've never jumpseated with them before. I did a search, and looked on the ALPA jumpseat guide - So I know I need to list and get my record locator number and they will probably give to a gate pass to get to the airplane.

But things always run different in SYD so I was currious if anyones ever done this on Air Canada before or if anyone's ever used AC not too or from the US. Also has anyone gotten luckly with first? I always bring goodies for the crew on these long flights just be be extra nice anyway, but if there is a secret I would love to know it.

Thanks!

I tried UA out of SYD to SFO or LAX but both flights were completely full. Eventually, Hawaiian got me to HNL after a $180 departure tax! UA's departure tax was a more reasonable yet expensive $100. AC was another backup plan but never used them.
