I'm a 27 year old Embry Riddle Grad/ flight instructor. What are the minimum age requirements for all the armed forces as a pilot or aviator.

The military is appealing with all the benefits and type of aircraft that they fly. To be honest I'm getting bored with flying cessnas and want a challenge. I don't even mind flying helos if I had to.

I've always been interested in the military but I wanted my options and I think I waited too long. I don't want to be 70 years old and looking back thinking I didn't even give it a shot. I KNOW there some fun to be had out here as well as serve my country. Please help! Thanks in advance.

I think you have until age 32 but I will check - we actually seem to have a shortage of applicants for flight school. If it is any consolation, I'm bored flying my RJ - the real fun is flying the helos in my reserve unit. And if you want a challenge: flight of 4 helos launching off the ship, moonless night on NVG's, 2 rotors apart, 120 knots, under 200 feet going into a dusty LZ. Likewise, I'm sure the fast movers have their own stories to tell. Good Luck - you won't regret signing up.

Think about it

My military time was the most fantastic adventure of my life, but it was not the flying that made it that way, althought that was a big part of it. It was the people you got to work with and the mission of the military that made it something I look back on with no second guessing, I am lucky to have had the opportunity. Everything else I have done does not compare. Make sure your motivation is in service to your country and not pursue of a cockpit. Do search on this board under military this topic had been covered extensively. If you want to go for all branches including the Army, there some great guys and opportuinites there.
