. How is everyone feeling now that the USAir Defined Benefit pension is going the way of the Edsel. If you are age 50 or older, would you like the opportunity to work for a few more years to make up for the shortfall in your 401k, or the possibility that your own airline DB plan might be cancelled??
I'm guessing that this will be a lively discussion. Have at it!

We don't need no stinkin age 60, George is still flying at 93

George Neal, 93-and-a-half years of age, is officially the oldest active pilot in the world. The Guinness book says so.

George Neal, a long-time de Havilland Aircraft of Canada test pilot, has set a new aviation record, qualifying as the oldest active, licensed pilot on Earth. Neal is entering the Guinness Book of World Records for remaining a pilot at 96 years and 194 days as of his qualifying flight on June 2 this year. Neal has held a Canadian pilot certificate since 1936, amassing more than 15,000 hours on 150 aircraft types.

Many of those hours came while he was a test pilot for de Havilland Canada. Joining the company in 1947, he was pilot-in-command for the first flights of the DHC-3 Otter, CS2F Tracker and DHC-4 Caribou, and he served as part of the flight-test teams for the DHC?1 Chipmunk, DHC-2 Beaver, DHC-6 Twin Otter, DHC-5 Buffalo, Dash 7 and Dash 8.

Tom Appleton, chairman of Canada?s Aviation Hall of Fame and former de Havilland Canada/Bombardier executive, submitted the Guinness record application. ?George?s experience is unparalleled in the world of aviation,?? Appleton said. ?He is as tireless as he is professional, and we are proud of his airborne exploits, which seem to go on indefinitely.?

You took a guy who made the The Guinness book and used him as an example to spread your BS that older people can fly just as well as younger people?

All I see is exactly what everyone else has said is that as you age you lose your abilities and the fact that a 93 year old can make the Guinness record for doing the same thing a 23 year old can easily do just shows it.

When you trot out a person who has reached an age that less than 2% of the population will reach means that 98% of the people will not even be alive at that age let alone able to fly an airplane.

So, while you are looking at the statistical anomalies to try and push a demented agenda I will look at the vast majority who will only jeopardize the lives of those that they fly as they reach an age that their mental acuity degrades, their reaction times diminish, their bodies become weaker and slower.

Wow. I guess you don't think that is cool. Gotta go fly my Falcon back to KYIP
