Not long ago somebody commented on the training at Aero Service saying that it wasnt a good idea to train there. Any other comments on this? Is it related to their career fairs? I have been thinking about getting an FE ticket so that I can get back into freight flying (bigger aircraft this time). My rational is that if I already had the FE ticket, it would make getting employment easier. I'm not talking about a PFT thing here. Also whats up with their career fairs? Has anyone obtained employment through this or is it a gimmick?

You have to realize that the only reason for the career fairs is to sell type ratings or other sim time. While you wait in line for some company they'll work you to sign up for some type rating to "improve your chances"...

if you get an interview through the fair, good for you. But it's not their "primary" focus.

With an ATP, your chances aren't much worse getting on with the carriers I am guessing you are interested in as an FO. If you are just looking for a job, then it obviously can't hurt to get a FE rating. Many of these freight companies tell you as an FE you will upgrade quickly, but with my experience it's mostly just a carrot. An FE ticket can lock you into sitting sideways, just be warned.

As far as the training goes over there, it can be good or bad, but in the end you get a rating and if hired by an airline will have to go through their training program anyway.

Job fair could land you a job, but most likely I would agree with the above poster.

Good luck!
