Hi, I am new to this board, a great one from what I am able to read.
I have a question of advice on a number of overlapping subjects -
For a variety of reasons, $$, my wife is requesting that we mothball our airplane for a while, like 9 + months. Dessicant plugs, preservative oil, etc.
I will need to do BFR in april next year, and am considering doing the wings/BFR before I mothball it. Annual is due in Oct, and it will be out of annual when/if I return to flying. I normally get the annual done at a place about 50 miles away. I'll need a ferry permit.
Does it make sense to get the BFR out of the way now, or wait until I return to flying? Plane is c337, skymaster, and I am MEI, and current with instrument stuff, recent (last 2 mos) holds, ndb, vor, ils, loc backcourse. What other issues will I face if/when I return to flying. Oh, age, I'm 56 closing on 57. Got my license almost 4 years ago, lifelong dream. We bought the plane 2 years ago.
Thanks
