Working full time and working on my CFI is proving to be extremely difficult.
I am considering an accelerated school. Can you recommend one that is reasonably priced and reputable? The latest I heard is the American Flyers got rid of its CFI program. Need something in the Southwest.
Arizona, Nevada, Cal, Utah . . . . Any suggestions. Thanks.

It may not be far enough west enough for you, but I would reccomend Airman Flight School in Norman, OK. If you study for your written exams beforehand and are instrument proficient(not just current!), you can complete your CFI/CFII in 3 weeks for about $5500. I got my Inst/Comm/CFI/CFII there and taught instrument students and CFIIs for 2 years. Have since moved on.

You will get out of it what you put into it. If you are prepared and motivated, it is the best value in terms of time and money.

Good luck!

Some in the SW that I have heard about offhand from people that went there...

Shebles- Kingman & Lk. Havasu

ATP Inc -Everywhere- (LAS and PHX are 2 SW locations that come to mind)

I just wanted to let you know in response to the American Flyers CFI course, when I got a rating from them. In July they still had that program, or atleast the one in Houston did. I believe it was moderately priced, and they seemed to be learning a lot at such a fast pace. I know it was like one month, or I think.

I'll second the motion for Sheble's. Had a friend go there for his multi-commercial and later, CFI-A. No complaints, you get what you pay for. Good training at a good price.

I think you can get a CFI rating in about 10 days there.

I'll second Airman

Airman in Norman OK !!!

Airman Flight School

I wouldn't even think twice about this one. I looked into American odd Flyers, and all other ones and I wasted time since none came close to what Airman offers in my opinion.

They (Airman) have the I/II program down to a science.

If I had to do it all over again I would go to Airman, it was a great experience and they will get you done fast.
