ACA management plans to conduct a limited displacement bid. It will affect the J-41 Captain seat and the FRJ Captain seat. It is anticipated that the company will be requesting pilots to update their standing bid within 30 days of this Friday, July 25, 2003. The company has informed ALPA that they intend to displace 22 Captains into the First Officer Seat. These Captains will be displaces to the status and domicile that their seniority entitles them to hold.

Yesterday, the MEC office was informed that ACA is not currently anticipating additional furloughs. HOwever, this is subject to change. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the UAL situation, ACA still does not have a firm fleet plan. However, ACA feels that this displacement will help best position the airline for the future. The affected Captain's can expect to enter training in September.

Displacee Captains will remain at their current rate of pay until the completeion of IOE. Displaced Captains can also expect to receive moving expenses and moving days in accordance with the Agreement. Also, pilots that are involuntarily displaced will retain a 12 month right of return to any newly created vacancy in teh pilot's original division and status prior to any other pilot's award to that completion.

Pilots with specific questions should direct them to their status representitive.

Why only 12 months? Is that in the ACA contract?

-Boo!

Yes sir,

Whether you are displaced from domicile, seat or both, those displaced get first right of recall to any new positions, for up to 12 months, from which they were displaced.

We had 20 or 30 CRJ CAs displaced(junior manned) from IAD to ORD around August 2002. Any new CRJ CA slots in IAD are offered first to these displaced CAs before anyone else, up until August this year.

We are overstaffed on CAs and short on FOs.

CVG FRJ CA we have 114 CAs and 64 hard lines

IAD J41 CA we have 120 CAs and 64 hard lines

Many of the CAs in these aircraft are very junior(60 to 86% down the list)

Yeah, that's why I get calls from crew scheduling begging me to fly on days off. Yet, when I need a favor...forget it. Not to mention 97 of our bretheren on furlough. Ever since LGA shut down things have been getting worse and worse. Next week is going to be an important week. If we don't here any good news soon...
