I heard a rumor that the 70 seaters will be flown by United mainline pilots mostly furloughed guys and gals. Skeen has already agreed to wet lease the crews and ALPA is probably ready to sign off on it.

ACA will operate the aircraft, but wet lease the crews from UAL. The other rumor is that the 70 seaters might go to "Starfish" to operate along with the 737's.

Good on ACA-ALPA to pass a resolution to hire furloughed UAL pilots, I hope the UAL-ALPA will return the favor if/when they ever hire again.

The rumor of the 70 seaters is widely known (Aviation Daily) but nobody knows which UAX carrier will get them. We do have preferential hiring for furloughed United pilots but they come in on the bottom of the seniority list. Our contract states that all flying for ACAI corporation (i.e., both ACA and AC Jet) will be done by flying on the seniority list.

J4J will never happen at ACA. We voted down the Charter LOA and that would have been done by ACA pilots. Imagine they propose a new entity where ACA pilots do not get first shot? Thats almost laughable.

The second sentence in our contract as follows:

"All scheduled airline revenue flying performed in or for revenue producing service of the
Company shall be performed by pilots on the Company Pilots’ System Seniority List and
supervisory pilots in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement."

UAL pilots can fly ACA 70 seaters if we get them. We will welcome them with open arms, to the bottom of our list, like anyone else. If UAL wants UAL pilots only to fly the 70's, let UAL operate them and come up with an A scale payrate so the rest of us can follow on our next negotiations.

If the USAir mainline RJ pay rates are any indication, U will drag wages down, not up for the RJ industry.

Why would "J4J" (Jets for Jobs) never happen at ACA?

UAL-ALPA will not "give away 70 seat scope" without something to show for it. With 1300 guys/gals on the street I would think that ALPA will want more than a "Token agreement" that only was passed by ACA-ALPA and the company (ACA) has not agreed to. Not to mention ACA has slowed hiring with almost 300 in a pool and only 50 more to reach the goal of 350 in 2003.

Of course Skywest may agree to a "J4J" program and that may be the ace in the hole on who gets the RJ-70.

Things that make you go hmmmm........

UAL is in Chapter 11.. UAL-ALPA doesnt have anymore scope.

Of course, you're right. Skywest COULD agree to J4J. We will agree to it also im sure. With a staple at the bottom. However, all of this is moot until we see the first -700 in UAL paint. Rumors are a wonderful thing eh?

Now, lets talk about the 717 seen on ACA MX ramp a while ago....

There is "only" 120 to 140 pilots in the pool at ACA not 300.

AMEN TO THAT

I would guess that because the route structures are geographically so far apart that each UAX carrier is going to get some 70 seaters. However, a Jets for Jobs will never make it past the ACA pilot union regardless of what Skywest or Air Whisky does.
