After reading all the press releases and everyones comments, I was wondering if Delta is in negotiations with anyone other than Skyway for the operation of the 328Jets?

Any rumors that other carriers are interested in this flying?

From what I'm hearing (and it doesn't mean anything) the deal is far from done with Skyway.

I am wondering where Skyway would get the money or pilots to get these aircraft. Big brother (Midwest Airlines) still has financial problems.

Plus... they've indicated that they want to be done with the 328s in a year. Why would DAL give them the flying if they planned on phasing out the airplane soon..

Hiring has been goin like crazy since Sept 03. 20 new Jet fo's in training now along with 6 Captain's. Crew screwing told me we were way heavy on the FO side. Another new hire class on April 12 and Captain class on April 27th.
Honestly I don't know where they'd get the money but Midex saved a whole lotta money by selling HQ then leasing it back, selling some of the B-1900's,selling off the DC-9's, and low pay

Skyway is the only carrier around capable of flying the DoJet with its experience. It will probably be similar to the current ACA arrangement. Delta will probably lease the DoJets to Skyway and, in return, Skyway will operate the airplanes in the same or new markets (provide the capacity). Can anyone name another airline with DoJet experience who can start up operations in the next 6 months? I can't. Delta just needs to provide the capacity in its existing markets - it won't look to make a bundle on this operation but it needs to preserve the capcity in the current DoJet markets out of CVG....

God help Skyway if they are in fact the ones to take our DoJets. It would benefit them to hire some of the existing 328 AMTs already in CVG if this happens. They may have experience on the type, but to take on that many is whole different ball game.

I didn't know Skyway wanted to be done with these things (328) in a year. I work there and have not heard anything like that. We have nothing to phase out into. The EMB are pushed to 2006, at least. If this went through, I would imagine DAL would assume the leases if ME couldn't. Our cash has gotten much better in the last year, so who knows. I could see us making enough money to actually break the contract of the EMB program altogether in favor of ME getting more 717s, because that's what the CEO wants more of anyway. He's not much of a 50 seat RJ man. Mainly because our silly 17's only hold 88. I could also see over time for us to reaquire the jets for our MKE operation. Who said ALL of the airplanes WILL be based in CVG? I 'm sure they would want a few more in MKE as well.

d328amt- I would hope our company would give preferential hire for anyone in CVG with any kind of experience. I take it you work for ACA down there.

This has been a hot topic, how long do you think it will take to see what happens, either way?
