Checking for scuttlebutt on:

More Fall '07 767 proffers with sim training in DEN? Seems reasonable and overdue.

Electronic flight ags & ACARS for DC9 fleet? Seems pretty far-fetched but heard from mtx.

Any takers?

At the "Merger: remain calm" meeting Boja said that they were receiving 2 extra 76s this year and that they would proffer for them "shortly."

I hear the outbased training is a done deal, but i'm sure it will take longer than it should to get the details worked out.

The rest are the same rumors I have heard....just rumors until it happens.

Another interesting note: ABX has 9 more conversion slots than it has planes. So I suppose there is a remote possibility Joe could sell them, though this doesn't make sense for a number of reasons. So I'm sure Hete will find the planes one way or the other. (Odd that we bought one plane from AMR. Sort of like buying a cup of milk from Walmart. Maybe we will have an announcement after we get a TA . . .this week or after all the big announcements at the Paris AirShow.

All ABX pilots should listen to this Sunday's members' only hotline. Subtle message if negotiations or system cuts don't go our way.

They got the conversion slots because they could, now can't find any good aircraft for them. Right now on the open market, there are 4 767s that are worth buying. The only problem is they are setup as VIP A/C and too overpriced to gut the interior. There are a bunch of 76s in the desert, mostly ex united, but most aren't worth a dam. I was told they are actively searching for 76s and do not currently have a cap on the number the will buy.

starting in '08 Continental will begin to retire their 10.

Whether it ends up as one airline or ten, the "big" airplanes at DHLUSA are going to be the 767 & 747.

The multi-million dollar question is, what's the "little" airplane? We know it's not going to be the DC9 and it's hard to imagine a fleet of 727's in ten years. Or is it?

Is it that there are NONE or none that will sell cheap enough in Joe's mind?

If the deal isn't done and just unannounced...then something will magically present itself by next year. The A350 and 787 orders will help soften the tight market.

What I'm saying is that on the open market, there are 4 usable airframes. The only problem with those airframes is they are currently setup for VIP travel and priced accordingly. Now remember that just because it isn't advertised doesn't mean it isn't for sale.

I heard that there is another (#2) AA 767-200 going in to mod right now. No announcement has offically been made. Is anybody curious about the flat panel mod that AA has just signed on to? It is the IS&S type that ABX is installing. Could part of a larger 767 deal....Time will eventually tell.
