Anyone know if ABX is going to do any hiring this year?

Maybe if they find an ETOPS certificate to operate those passenger 767's they purchased from Delta. DOD flights in their future?

All of our 767's are former pax, converted to freighters, newest ones (including all the Delta birds) have cargo door config.

As for hiring, who knows, lots of rumors though.

Rumor on the street is that ABX gets future domestic and Astar gets International. Is there any reason why this would be a logical scenario (is Astar-former-DHL annointed as the special child)? Maybe when all that is settled, both will start hiring 'cause of big-time growth instead of each trying to fly in the same market.

Hadn't heard that one, but I like it! Domestic flying is a MUCH larger share than the int'l would be; besides I like flying 1 hour flights 10 hours a month!

I saw this posted yesterday elsewhere on the internet and thought you Astar/ABX guys may be interested...

anyone heard this...DHL to shift flying to ABX from Astar? supposedly Dasberg had negotiated 6 727s under contract with DHL for lease extensions, but DHL changed decision today and decided to park by summer or year end (not sure which)??? looks like no upgrade for yours truly this year. please confirm anyone if its a done deal?

Yes its a done deal. Except we are parking all of our planes. We are tired and when Das didn't come through we said "let's just park 'em all" and get some sleep. Sorry about your upgrade, I was hoping to get one too.
