I am trying to get an A320 type rating here in US for a job overseas. I know there are tons of places for B737 type rating, but are there similar places that offer A320 type? I don't want to pay $$$$$ for Alteon..

Thanks..

Doesn't Airbus have a training center in Miami ? Contract training at the majors is the only other option. You really need a partner though or the price is too much. Try USAirways, their prices tend to be very reasonable.

check out this website: http://www.mullers.net/mike/Training%20Cost/

There are a few on there offering A320 types.

FlyingTo IST,

You mean you're giving up your business in SEA and taking an A320 job in Turkey ?

Good luck...hope it works out for you.

Flying -

Will they hire you in Turkey with your FAA ticket? or do you need a JAA ticket over there?

Best off luck to you.

I converted to Turkish CAA licenses in 2001. It was an unpleasent experience where i had to bribe some turkish officials so that they cannot fail me in English (have college degree from US to boot) , but the prospective airline is pretty professional..

I will keep all posted..

buddy,

If you play your cards smart you might be able to get a JAA ticket out of it. Converting your Turkish national to a JAA one should be easy beacse Turkey is a (wannabe/almost) JAA country.

G'luck!
