For some twisted reason, I logged onto OurASA on a day off, and read this little nugget.

Capt. FL will be returning to the ATL Chief Pilot's office next week as an Assistant Chief Pilot. FL is eager to return, get back to the daily "grind" and support the line pilots. He and I have talked a lot and I am comfortable that FL will be able to jump back in with minimal risk now.
Scott
I guess his brief bout of sanity didnt last.
He must really like either us or the challenging conditions.

Welcome back!!

Yeah, I saw/said hi to him at FlightSafety a few times over the past week or two and he didn't seem much like the FL we all know and love.

This is good news, guys. FL being back is a great thing for the average line guy. Next time you go see Fred for a CP "whatever", be sure to thank him for coming back. He is, after all, a pilot's Chief Pilot.

Welcome back, Fred. We missed you. Can you bring Linda and Mary Jane back with you???

Fred!

Fred Rocks!

If you think about it, Fred just does his job...... He is honest, he helps out where he can, and he is not a meddling bastard! Exactly what we want to see in a CP, and exactly what most of the others lack.

Fred is simple, he simply does his job on a straightforward, no B.S. level. It is amazing how much he stands out against some of these others because they mostly do such a poor job and Fred simply does what should be expected of any CP.

-You rock, Fred!

I spoke with him at FSI yesterday. I think he's the same FL as ever. He went through a lot with his heart ordeal but said it was mostly his own fault that it happened.
He's lost about 20 lbs and completely stopped smoking and is exersizing a lot. Told me the Training Environment was just not where his heart was in the airline business. He said that the IPs were awesome and he was committed to becoming a success in the operation but in the end, he was thrilled when approached by the company to return to a CP spot.

Well we should all give Fred a break when he returns.

Part of why the CP job stressed him out is that everyone saw him and skipped the other CPs. RC is actually a lot like Fred. Let's try not to heap all the crap on Fred this time.

Does this mean that Sheehan didn't work out? Is another chief pilot leaving or is FL just being added to the roster there now?

I think you will see another IP come out to be a CP by the end of the year. Very little line exp. if any.
