ok, not really :D

PS2 or XBOX? Which would you go with and why?

here is what I know:
PS2 has more games right now
XBOX doesn't require a memory card and graphics are better

Atari II. Anything else is just window-dressing. :D

I left the gamecube out of contention b/c I am not impressed with the games that it has. The controller is by far the most comfortable ever made but the games are all for kids.
So it's either XBOX or PS2. Which one?

PS2 has more games, but it seems Xbox has a few kickass games not on PS2. I opted for PS2 and love it.

TRS-80's rule

TRS-80 with "Zaxxon" (sp). Believe it our not, it's still in the attic and works. What can I do with this thing. Is it worth anything?

there's quite a few games for the cube that are hardly 'kids' games

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Robotech battlecry
hitman2
blood omen2
bmx xxx
conflict desert storm
dead to rights
eternal darkness
medal of honor
rainbox six
a whole mess of resident evil games
tom clancy's ghost recon/splinter cell

just to name a few, and it's a growing roster, granted there's also tons of kiddie games but that's certainly not all it is.

your right about the controller, i picked up a couple of the slightly larger 'Airflo' models with the built in fans, even more comfortable to hold cause of their larger size

Re: TRS-80's rule

hey bro,
it might actually be....they're pretty uncommon i believe, you might check around on ebay, see if there are any and what they're going for, or check other places (message boards and the like, other than aviation lol) ya never know, you might have a nice wad of cash sitting in your attic just waiting for the right sucke..ahem, i mean customer :D

good luck

PC.

I can't accept a gaming platform that can't play flight sims or first person shooters.

Do what I did...

Me and my wife bought both, and a gamecube on top of that!

You're kidding, right? Nintendo has picked up exclusive rights to continue the Resident Evil series of games (argueably one of the best series of games ever produced) not to mention the Game Cube section at Blockbuster is way bigger than the XBox section. Also Gamecube has many of the same games that other consoles have as well. BTW... I have both Game Cube and PS2. I sold the XBox to pay for the 'Cube... the best sale I ever made! Besides, using the XBox's controller is like trying to drive a Mack truck while wearing boxing gloves.

I have a GameCube. I don't play 1st person shooters - so I have no need for anything else. The X-Box has the best hardware, but I have yet to see a game on that platform that really blows the doors off anything else graphically.

Right now, my favorite game for the GameCube is Metroid Prime. It's pretty amazing (but I'm a little biased).

X-Box, it has plenty of good first person shooters, such as Medal of Honor and Ghost Recon to name two. It also looks lots better, and if you have a dog, or kids, or a gimpy grandma walking around the house, the controllers have a thing on them so that it will "pull apart" and not yank the controller either out of the console, out of your hand, or worst, pull the console off the shelf or wherever AND it pauses the game when it happens.

Well, I've decided to go XBOX. Thanks for all the replies. The xbox has some great racing games (just wish it had GTA!) like nascar and formula 1 stuff with some incredible graphics which swayed my decision. Again, thanks for the input!
