When you look at the big picture of what we all do, don't sweat the small stuff. Good luck in your contract negotiations, but don't forget what each and every one of us is responsible for.

A tribute to ASA Flight 529.

Wow. That gave me chills. Nice computer animation.

Matt "Warmie", you and I may disagree politically, but I have to tell you that you're the man for surviving that and saving the lives that you and the captain saved.

Edit: Robin too. Sorry to leave you out.

I've read the book about the crash several times and seen a lot of other stuff about it but I'm still in awe every time I see something like this.

Kudos to Ed, Matt, and Robin for doing such an amazing job.

I read most of the book, but didn't finish it as I became upset. I knew the Capt well, and had met his wonderful family. Yes, thanks Warmie & Robin for all you did to save many lives.

It's amazing Hamilton-Standard didn't go out of business for that happening more than once...

On a lighter note, does anyone know what the song is at the end of the film?

The Crew did an unbelievable job in saving the lives with what they had to work with. This would be a great example for Mr. Charlie Tutt when he says, "Safety is a given." Yeah, tell that to Matt Warmerdam and Company Mr. Tutt. We can only be so lucky to have him still because of his commitment to Safety.

Air-emergency....

The graphics are from a show on the National Geographic Channel called "Air Emergency." Someone just pulled clips off that show and overlaid music.

Overall, this episode of Air Emergency was an excellent presentation with very high-quality graphics. It was pretty impressive-even went into great detail about where the problem came from and who was responsible.

I am one of those people who was damn glad to see the last EMB-120 go into the sunset. There were several more incidents that didn't go public, but long story short-we were lucky to not have had more people lost with that damn plane.

-Excellent documentary-well worth watching....

I've also noticed I believe two other plaques on the wall in the secondary crewroom in C Concourse. Can anybody share the stories behind those as well?

I believe one was the Brasilia that had the prop overspeed on approach to BQK and the other was a Brasilia crash down in S. America. Not sure about the circumstances of the second one but if I remember correctly one of the people killed in it was an ASA mechanic who was also the brother of one of our training dept guys.

It's unfortunate that despite heroic efforts, lives were lost. No doubt the crews are composed of aviators we can all look up to. As long as the aviation community learns from the few things that didn't go right (the prop for instance), their lost lives will not be in vein.

This guy has done a few of these videos. Alaska 261 is pretty good too.....it really does bring perspective back.

The FO on that aircraft is a member on this forum-14RF9 SUX you guys did an incredible job bringing that broken 120 back to earth! Great tribute video!

JP,

I'm with you. That video gives me the chills and brought tears to my eyes.

May Ed Rest In Peace.

Warmie and Robin God Bless You.

Any one know the name of the first song?

701EV

The answer is in the comments, guys. "Now We Are Free" by Lisa Gerrard. I think it might have been in that Russell Crowe movie "Gladiator", but I'm not sure if it's the same song.
