This was the best and funniest post I have read in a while. It concerned ASA getting a BOS base: (?)

"Why Cheer?

Every time you fly a former mainline route its another nail in the coffin of a former well paying job.

You know being the best paid regional is still like winning the special olyimpics, it may feel good, but you are still retarded.

If we as 50 seat flyers fly mainline for a pittance, guess who has the last laugh, management."

That is so true. Thank You. I don't think the regional guys are retarded, but the last part is true. Hopefully we will all see that someday.....

Bye Bye--General Lee
 ;)

The post was actually in reference to Comair doing SLC-SEA.

Personally, all I was talking about on the ASA/BOS post was replacing ACA when/if they leave the loving DCI family. I think it's pretty short-sighted to celebrate routes going from mainline to the connection carriers, but that's just me.

I agree, and you are right. I have flown that same route (SLC-SEA) on a 767-300 and it was full. The last flight out of SEA to SLC now is an RJ, and it was a 757/767 before, and was full with business people all leaving SEA. That is sad that we have given up on the West Coast---I hope that changes eventually. The Southwest gates at SEA are directly across from ours, and we will have a 50 seat RJ, while they will have a 737 going to SLC also. They will win.

Bye Bye--General Lee:(

Guys,

This debate is ridiculous. Cheer or don't cheer....as pilots we have no control over the type of aircraft flying between SLC-SEA. Getting upset at a regional pilot that's happy to see expansion at his/her company is along the same lines as those that blame mainline pilot pay for all Delta's woes. If Delta could make money with a 767 on that route, they'd have one on it. Apparently, they feel they can do better with that aircraft somewhere else. If you don't like it, talk to DAL marketing, not DCI pilots. We just drive the bus where we're told (just like everyone else).

You mean to say Regional Pilots aren't conspiring to destroy the industry? You must off your rocker!:D

Amen, that speaks for every WO, every Contract Carrier.....

Y'all are barking up the wrong tree.
