Anyone know what the speed reduction is while firing the cannon?

AWESOME. Hawgs rule.

As for recoil, here you go. 10,000 lbs of recoil force. This also has some interesting information on it. Scroll down to "recoil vs. forward thrust myth." I guess it measurably slows the jet down, but the engines are making nearly twice the thrust, and the gun is only fired in very short bursts.

blowing things up is awesome

I suspect by this comment that you've never been shot at with military equipment.
Blowing stuff up is far from cool...
Necessary at times...granted, but not cool.

Quite frankly I am getting tired and concerned about this trend of putting up plat cams, and bombing range camera shots with the heavy duty music, to make this whole weapon stuff seem trendy.
This society as not seen a war with its own eyes (CNN doesn't count) in a while.

I quite agree. The proliference of cameras has turned modern warfare into something of a spectator sport. Where these gun nerds find all this footage is beyond me.

Just as disturbing is the trend of seeing mutilated corpses with "PWNED" and other retarded leet speech colloquialisms super imposed on the screen. It sickens me to see how little value seems to be placed on life by todays generation of teens.
