Chased the wife and kids away for the weekend and been going at it for two straight days. Is it just me or did you all feel just a little overwhelmed when you first took a nose dive in the books??

Ok, break over!

Well, it's not a 73 type, but I'm doing the same with the commercial "Gleim's." My "mommy" showed up tonight and took me out for dinner, so I had a reason to shave for the first time in 4 days...I was starting to look and feel a little like the "unibomber." :D

Overwhelmed? Nah, it's just you.

Are you kidding? I wanted to cry.

Quick! What's max EGT on start?

What equipment is on the battery bus?

Just kidding.

Study tip: The headshrinkers have determined that for maximum retention one needs to repeat a piece of information six to seven times.

Good luck

It was painful doing the 73 type home prep, with all my other stuff going on. But keep plowing through it. Repetition is the key!! The more you do it at home , the easier class is. Like class is going to be easy!!

It's more of an endurance test.

Studies have shown that if you use more than one sense you will retain better. So read out loud, you will see, hear, and speak the information. Study groups are the best for retention. You will hear other voices that break up the tone of your own voice. When you pass, have several adult beverages to celebrate.

I have found that after the fourth type, numbers fall out of your ears during the fifth and additional types. Good luck.

Repetition, flash cards, chair flying are a start. Group study and a computer-based FMC program, too. Study breaks at the gym. Couple of frosty beverages in the evening . . . .

I had a great study partner. We hit it hard on the weekends and we forced each other to study. That seemed to work for me.

Thanks for all the great information. This will be more third type, however I am a little bit more motivated to get this one!

"Who ya flying the 73' for? Or did you buy yourself a very expensive Christmas present?"

Yeah, I gave myself a late present!

"Who is that in your avatar? I just took my son to our first motocross race last night (local track), and I think we're both hooked :)"

Not sure who that poor guy is, however I have done something similar myself in the past! Lucky I only broke my wrist! Really should quit racing, but it's just to much darn fun!

"When/where are you going?"

I am going to K&S. Keydet, check your PM.
