Yep, I asked Uncle Sam for some vocational retraining. Well he has issued a local flight school a check for 5k for my CFI they should have it in about 5 days.

About time I get some of them tax dollars back!!!

WIA? That's cool, I'd rather see a laid off pilot actually get something useful with their WIA money, rather than a type rating.

The only shame here, is that a CFI rating costs that much.

Good luck with your new training and future rating.

Yes Sir, WIA Program

I had to pull a bunch of strings "Post Secondary Vocational Education Instructor" Was the ticket. That and I am an out of work electronics engineer which is an industry of outsourcing buffoons that killed the industry in the USA.

I want to say thanks to all on here that told me about the WIA program! It really works. Trying to get the wife to do it she qualifies as a displaced home maker.

Washington, State

Maximum $5,000 Per Application

Must be an IN-Demand Occupation
Hint: "Post Secondary Vocational Education Instructor"

I was skeptical at first and did not like being that close to the welfare office same building but dam it really works, you have to spend a few days with them and sit through some indoctrination classes and spend a few days or so digging up info but well worth it. Most Question's and conversations with your employment specialist are via e-mail any way.

Oh!!! Now I have to find the time to complete the CFI hahahaha To busy ferrying airplanes but there is no time requirement's.
