What are the realistic chances of these A/C ending up at Comair?

What's going to happen to all the ACA 328Jet pilots?

This is too much news for the amount of sleep I had last night.

zero

We will not get them. They're going to Skyway or someother subpar Walmart type airline. Comair's growth is over unless Delta goes BK.

wait for it...

Comair's future growth is in question because of Comair's wages vs. MESA, CHQ, etc. Higher wages for the same aircraft and same hours... Why should DAL expand Comair or ASA flying when they can contract with regionals that pay MESA level wages?

You Comair guys can be really arrogant sometimes. Do you think you won't be impacted by DAL's potential bankruptcy? Grinstein does NOT like RJs (unlike Fred Reid) - you will have a marginalized role if bankruptcy happens...

Comair's pay will also go WAY WAY down if Delta goes Chap 11. I think they still remember your fun strike.

Bye Bye--General Lee

They can contract to the Mesa's of the world all they want. The cold hard fact is that they give Mesa money to fly airplanes. When Comair and ASA fly airplanes they put money in DALs pocket.

General,

That all depends... When/if DAL goes BK, they don't have to pull Comair/ASA and other subsidiaries into it. They are going to be hard pressed to persuade a judge to void a contract from a company pulling in millions each quarter. Regardless of what DAL pays for Comair/ASA that makes them profitable, the P&L is nonetheless profitable.

In the end, you stand to lose a whole lot more than a Comair/ASA pilot does if the respective contracts go away.

Everyone of your posts you are screaming that ASA/CMR should take mesa wages or DL will give the flying to the bottom feeders.
Okay, WHY HAVEN'T THEY????????????? Tell me why they, DL assigned 25 more airplanes over here? Was this decision made on a whim? Just out of the blue? Do you think they make all these business decisions without checking ALL the options?
If that is the case, pilot salaries are LEAST of DL's problems.
Whoever is in the management pipeline over there, who thinks one of the most important problems is designing new uniforms....
honey....where is my resume folder?

Apparently, they don't remember the strike because they sure have given us a lot of planes since then. Heck, even this year as DL is in turmoil we are taking delivery of 8 CRJ700's.

How many planes have you guys received since your contract was signed? Last I checked, your mainline fleet has actually shrunken dramatically. As you have pointed out, DL is paying to park MD11's rather than have you fly them. Obviously, DL management has a far larger axe to grind with you.

If they don't remember, they sure as hell will after they cut our pay!

I really doubt only mainline wages would be impacted. DAL management hasn't been a fan of Comair since the strike that cost $ hundreds of millions... They can use the same rationale to tweek your wages too in a bankruptcy - and don't think they wouldn't take the opportunity to screw with you and your regional-leading wages too.

You shouldn't feel soooooo secure in your position as other regionals get the growth you should get (DoJets)... Just think about it - in a bankruptcy, everything is up for grabs and changes will be made sooner while the window of opportunity is open...

Thanks 9rj9,

For once again proving why most people are morons on this site. Guess I should quit my job at my subpar WalMart airline. It's been fine for me in four years. I know at Skyway we are the LOWEST paid of EVERYONE. And we are bent on staying that way so we can take ALL of YOUR flying away from YOU and every other nondeserving pilot. Grow up man. We are just a small wholly-owned company that has experience with this airplane and our company sees a possibility to operate more. What's the big deal? They aren't coming after you, man. If someone else can get a type certificate, training program, do proving runs, etc. in a couple of months, they should have an equal shot as Skyway. I don't see that happening, but if it did I wouldn't put up a post and act like a child about it. If you are so upset about your own airline- quit. The people below you will thank you.

bitterness

9rj9 - why is it that just because we finally have a little sunshine for our 4 year rainy parade people like you have to surface with your remarks. I got a novel idea, why dont you be happy for us? When you guys went on strike and got your deal I was happy for you guys. Not bitter or resentful for your success. Next time you need a ride on walmart airlines come on up and introduce yourself, we can shoot the breeze.

GP

Oh, and by the way, I like walmart

MedFlyer

Md11's are parked because they are not the money makers promised by MD. You will find many md11's getting a tan in the desert and they will be the last to be RTS if at all.

Not knocking you. Just want to make sure the demise of an uneconomical airframe is not used as a basis for inaccurate assessments on current economics.

Fly safe,
100-1/2

Name one other operator out there today, other than ACA, that can fly the DL 328's on a moment's notice. Skyway is the only operator. We want the DL 328's. Like others have said, it's nice to see Skyway finally having positive things happen after a rough time recently.

Be happy for us and wish us well. If the situation was reversed, we would be happy for you.

Peace

SF

Medflyer,

We have gotten some new 738's since 9-11, but alas we did park the afore mentioned MD-11s, L1011's, and 727s. That is a large chunk, and that is probably why we have 3000 less pilots now than we did pre-9-11. As far as those MD-11s go----we could have used them for more MAC charters, and one of our many VPs said that we were supposedly the Government's "favorite" doing those charters......But, somebody on the 4th floor parked them....More revenue lost.....Our fault again I guess. And, you guys are next. You better pray we don't go Chap 11.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

Well General, for once you and I agree. Comair will definitely be affected if Delta files Chapter 11 and it will not be pretty. However, I would not be too gleeful if I were you. He that gloats last gloats best.

Your pay will go down as well, probably by at least the 40% that the Company has proposed or more (Delta has always wanted to get a leg up on American). There's a chance you could wind up as "industry leaders" again, on the low end.

You will lose your defined benefit pension plan.

Your featherbedding work rules will vanish and give rise to crewroom banter about the good old days.

You will actually be required to fly for a living rather than sit around and get paid for "looking good".

80 hours of hard time will be a new benefit for you. It will allow you to hone your piloting skills, free up the radio frequencies by eliminating the wind checks (with that much time in the cockpit you'll be able to guage the wind without asking). Chalk it up to defending the profession with action rather than rhetoric.

You can lose the protection of your no furlough clause. With that much hard time more of your juniors are likely to get bad news. (I would not want to see that, but it is a possibility)

The Company will be able to get rid of the annoyances generated by your scope clause. That will give us access to those mini 737's made by Embraer.

You will no longer be able to ridicule the AirTran guys and your new pay will be lower than SWA. Imagine that.

They will take away your pedestals and you will then have to acknowledge that you are just pilots like the rest of us. That will probably be hardest of all.

Let's hope it won't happen. That way we can all continue with our assorted illusions.

I think they still remember your fun strike.

You may be right. So do we.

PS. Don't get upset now, I'm just ruffling your pin feathers.
