Does all simulator time count towards your 250 total time needed for your commercial. I know that you can have up to 50 hrs of simulator time count towards the 250, but how do you know if the simulator you were on counts??? I have some hours that an instructor logged as ATC-710 simulator and 7S-200 simulator. I have about 10 hours in each simulator. My total flying time is 220 hours. So do I only need a total of 10 more hours of total time to qualify for the commercial??? Or won't the two simulators mentioned above count towards the 250??? Thanks for the help.

More information is needed here. Are you going for a Commercial Certificate with ASEL ratings? If so, did both the ATC-710 and 7S-200 simulators represent single engine airplanes? If so, you are good for all the time. If neither did, then you cannot use that time. See FAR 61.129(i)(1)(i) for a non Part 142 school and (2)(i) for a Part 142 school.

The ATC line of training devices are not simulators; they are flight training devices.

Bah, now I have to ask a few questions.

I will be getting my SEL commercial. I will have 20 hrs in a B1900 flight training device (multi engine), so will I be able to use that torwards the 250 total time or no?

Also, will my 20 hrs of Fresca 141 FTD time be able to be used for my commercial too?

61.129

(i) Permitted credit for use of a flight simulator or flight training device.
(1) ...an applicant who has not accomplished the training required by this section in a course conducted by a training center certificated under part 142 of this chapter may:

(i) Credit a maximum of 50 hours toward the total aeronautical experience requirements for an airplane..., provided the aeronautical experience was obtained from an authorized instructor in a flight simulator or flight training device that represents that class of airplane...appropriate to the rating sought...

By the way, it appears that there's two letter i's (not the roman numeral kind) in 61.129... they go a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, i -- no j?? At least in the on-line version here.
