With this info I would say JA was right that ASA is a "fixer upper" now hopefully on the right track.

I'm not complaining, I am just passing on information.

"This is what happens at my house when you spill paint in the garage..."

Fixer upper? Since when do you fix up a airline by transferring its new growth aircraft to your non-union subsidiary? In reality, ASA is a parts car that has run too well to not drive on a daily basis.

JA would have stripped it and pushed it out in the field for the kudzu to grow over just to spite ALPA, had it not been for the fact that even the stripped version of ASA makes money.

Delta would be better served with buying back ASA, trash canning SkyWest the instant their contract is up - keeping the over 1 Billion dollar yearly revenue and profits in house. Makes more sense than NWA.

Yes, this way ASA can continue to be the worst on-time airline in the US. And SkyWest will still be the best customer service money can buy.

You mentioned customer service and a regional airline in the same sentence? Please pass whatever it is you're smoking.

XPOO: As I'm sure you're fully aware, "ASA: Worst Airline Ever" threads are posted on almost a weekly basis. What makes this one so different?

Hey XPOO, shut your yap!!

BH is telling us that ASA has the highest numbers out of all the Delta Connection carriers for Dec, Jan and Feb so far. EV's A14 for Dec was 75.8% (highest) while OO was DEAD LAST at 60.9%. Pinnacle even beat you guys.

Fins,

I think the logic underlying this statement has expired. I agree, if the objective was to produce an airline that provided excellent customer service, Delta could do this. However, that's not the real objective. Delta, et al, cares very little about customer service. The objective is 'cheap'.

The tool of my trade was turned into a weapon against my countrymen!! I have since seen my trade cheapened by bottom feeding flyers with low fares and low time "what to be" pilots. Excuse me while I vomit.
Maybe, I should embrace the insanity, every extended security check by Shequita and toe-picker in first class only solidifies my job!

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the winter ops in the Inter-Mountain West. But...I'll be sending you a nice hot batch of MidWest Chocolate Chip cookies via DeltaDash for the job well done. BTW...what was your completion factor during those months? Care to compare?

But you know what. I would not want DAL to own us again. We're headed in a positive direct at this time where as with the DAL people it was down hill all the way. Cleaning house of all the dead weight and it seems to continue. I would expect more in the next few months.

Het Fins, remember the days of Ed P? It's back.

Ohhhhhhh who's the one coming up with excuses now? :D

After some digging I found Dec CF was 99.3 % So far our 1st Q CF for 2008 is at 99.4% I have no idea if those numbers are "adjusted" or not. I'm willing to bet the flights that Delta told us to cancel didnt count in those numbers.

It's not that much of an excuse. 6 days into February and the Delta numbers for SkyWest are worse than December and January. Snow is shutting down airports and hampering SLC to a 28 ARR Rate. Temperatures of -40C and below are rendering Canadian built aircraft useless. They aren't excuses, its life. SUN, HDN, GJT, GUC, ASE, DRO, JAC, MTJ....these 8 cities are killing us on a daily basis.
