Well, hot off the presses:

Denver is getting downsized..... The base reduction affects approximately 80 CRJ 200/700 crews.

Why? well

BNA, Nashville Tennesee
and
IAD, Washington Dulles

will be opening as CRJ crew bases. Crews will be flying CRJ 200/700s in United Express livery.

Interesting.... Seems there may be a massive bump and flush in the near future.

Side Note: BNA is a maintenance base for our CRJs and DHC-8s currently...

I had heard that when the UEX heads met to discuss future flying, UAL wanted SKYW in IAD and MESA in DEN, but both regionals wanted what the other got. Rumor has it that UAL told the two regionals to figure it out between themselves.

This opening for Mesa and SkyWest's recently almost doubling the size of DEN's RJ crews might support that claim.

Then again, I hear a new story every day...

Well, a whole bunch of jet FO's just got an opportunity to upgrade to Dash CA and stay out west. I hope more than a few take it...

You say a "whole bunch", but I wouldn't get too exicted. There are only 25 DEN Dash CAs.

I don't suspect that junior Dash CAs will be "dis'd" to jet FO. But rather DEN CRJ FOs will be able to "bid" DEN Dash CA, and then go to training when a DEN Dash CA seat opens up. I'd imagine that DEN Dash CA ends up going pretty senior as Dash CAs have less opportunity to move up.
