NEW YORK, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Mesaba Aviation, a subsidiary of MAIR Holdings Inc. (MAIR.O: Quote, Profile, Research), is seeking to reject contracts with unions representing the regional airline's pilots, flight attendants and mechanics, according to court documents.
The feeder carrier also expects to cut about 1,600 jobs through layoffs or furloughs, according to documents filed on Friday in a U.S. bankruptcy court in Minnesota.

how many Avros are left?

LOS ANGELES, Jan 11 (Reuters) - MAIR Holdings Inc. (MAIR.O: Quote, Profile, Research), the parent of bankrupt Mesaba Aviation, said on Wednesday that Northwest Airlines Inc. (NWACQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research) plans to remove all Avro Regional Jets from Mesaba's fleet between May and December 2006.

Avro is a four-engine aircraft that holds 59 passengers.Mesaba has a long-term marketing agreement with Northwest to provide air service under the Northwest Airlink banner. Northwest subleased these planes to Mesaba and is removing them as part of its own bankruptcy restructuring. Mair in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Wednesday also said that Northwest will remove three additional Saab aircraft from Mesaba's fleet in April 2006.

Re: losing Airtran f/o's to "this" deal = 1,600 jobs lost at Mesaba...?

He might have been alluding to the Virgin America thread but because he is a little "slow," by the time he switched threads, his information processing didn't quite keep with his dexterity skills hence the appearance of such a perfection of means. At least, he is consistent.
