I have to bite my tounge every time I hear that comment. People are too eager to give up freedoms with the expectation that the government will provide for our individual safety.

I don't have a problem with social contract theory, but there's seems to be a growing populace out there that seems to think we have to give everything up to government control so they can "make us safe".
