I am not looking forward to reading the FARs on the general takeoff and landing distance required, WX required to do approaches and takeoffs, currency, Duty time etc..
If someone could just through some general numbers at me that would be great. Even a web page that might break down 135 rules.

I think that you are taking this wrong. I have a full time job, getting married in 2 months, almost full time instructing, and just life itself... I am trying my best study for everything, I feel that this board could be used to help, if someone had a helpful study aid memory items, a easy way of looking at the entire 135 section of the FAR, this is a good size section that I have never had applied to my aviation career. The short notice of a interview causes a person to cram, and I now that anyone going for a interview to a unkown would like a little help. I study everyday for at least 4 hours around my schedule. This board is used the wrong way, openly bashing on others instead of helping. Antother note is that I was going through part 135 when I posted that, just wanted to make shure that I got everything covered. Do not assume that you know who I am! Do not assume that I am lazy! Just a pilot asking a general question!

I WILL GET THIS JOB AND PASS THIS INTERVIE WITH FLYING COLORS!

No problem, I am just frustrated with the others on this board that use it to fight with other pilots, we all have the same common goal, to further or career. I guess the only specific questions I have is min takeoff is 1 mile or 500 overcast? still looking for that answer, what WX needs to be reported to attempt the approach, and there is a differnt alternate rule I bielve, still looking as well. Thanks

flightmahtman4n, did they tell you to come to the interview with 135 knowledge?

I have gone to four 135 interviews. None of them expected you to list 135 FARs from memory. I recieved job offers from three of those interviews. And accepted job offers at two of those places.

So at my last 135 interview...I had already worked in 135 for two and half years already...and they STILL did not ask me about 135 regs at the interview.

What I am getting at is, it's their job to train you and alot of your rules are going to come from the ops manual.

I would just make sure you know the stuff you are supposed to know about the flying you have done. They are going to teach you what you need to know...or at least tell you what your are going to need to know, after you are in training.

Stop beating yourself up. They offered an interview, they just want to meet you and make sure that you are what you say. They will make a 135 pilot out of you.

I tend to agree with WrightAvia here. I would recommend you know Part 61, 91, and most of all, the AIM cold. Many of the part 135 items you are asking for help with will most likely be governed by the company's Op Specs anyway. I would check aviationinterviews.com to be sure but, I am guessing that they will pump their 135 info into you through a firehose at training, especially if you have no prior 135 experience.

Best of luck.

PS

I agree with you regarding the pissing matches that occur on this site... pitiful use of a great forum. However, I admit that my initial reaction to your first post was much the same as 2LT's. Glad to see that you hung in there and clarified the misunderstanding rather than getting angry and letting it turn into another of the above mentioned fights. And, as he said, let us know if there are any specifics we can help with.
