I have a difficult decision to make and I'd like some advice. I'm currently an F/O with a 135 charter company in the NE, soon to upgrade to captain. I'll be making in the 50k range with ok beni's and a so-so schedule, but no real future at the company salary wise.

How important is PIC jet? If I go to netjets, upgrades are in the 2-3 year range depending on aircraft from what I've heard. I have no PIC jet, would it be in my best intrest to stay where I'm at, get some PIC jet or just go over to netjets and wait until the upgrade?

I can see how netjets would be a career destination, but I'm over 40 and I just wondering if not having PIC jet will be limiting should I chose to leave NJA.

I have no degree, but I'd like to get on with a SWA or FEDEX at some point or maybe even Evergreen, Atlas or Kalitta.

Unless you want to stay at NJA for a career stay where you are and get the PIC. Upgrade will be more realistically four to five years. If you want to fly over 60 come to Netjets , if not stay where you are build PIC and get on with one of the above mentioned companies.

Keatts, at year 5 can you make 100K at the palce you're at?

401K at NetJets--- 50 cent on the dollar for the full amount of your contribution.

Full medical, dental and eye insurance with no payment other than you co-pay.

7 on 7 off.....no having to non-rev if you live near one of the 5 bases...TEB, CMH, PBI, DAL or LAX.

Crew food.....granted its not as good as in the past but its something.

Its your decision....PLz do your homework prior to coming to NetJets...a few guys who have been hired since the contract has been ratified are complaining about the work conditions here becuase they DID NOT know the work rules prior to sign on the dotted line.....no excuse for that.

This place is not for everyone.

401K is a good point. I put the max in every year and NJA does match it 50% that's $21K every year although I think it's up to $15K this year individually. In other words I'm saving almost $2K every month. Not too shabby. And relatively pain free.
