Hi!

Does anyone know the status of the above. The committee that developed the changes was scheduled to complete it's work in Jun/Jul of 2005. In May, I read some info on the changes in an aviation business weekly journal. Since then I have heard nothing.

Does anyone know the procedures to changing the regs? When will the FAA say anything officially? I can't find anything on the FAA website about it?

Have A Nice Day!

In reality it will be at least two or three years before these changes take effect. The committee recommended changes. Now the FAA will review them and make proposals. There is the 'Notice of Proposed Rulemaking' and that may happen two or three times as the FAA fine tunes the new regs. Then they are published with a beginning date. The FSDO's may not be aware of all the new proposals and they will not comment on them officially if they do. There have been way too many cases of FSDO's enforcing new regs that didn't become regulation in the past and it caused them a lot of problems. So for now just be patient.

Do a search on the DOT Docket System. It will list ALL of the reccomendations and supporting information. Don't have the docket # in front of me, but I'll try to find it. Try searching for Part 135 Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC).
