Good luck; they're a great unit. I had a primary with A-10s there (although would've gladly taken C-130s too!) and had a positive experience with virtually everyone on base. They're a real friendly and professional bunch.. enjoy!
Went through the Guard RF-4C RTU up there. At the time it was the best kept secret in the U.S. Folks who'd never been there told me "hope you like potatoes." Those who had seen Boise, however, told me "you're not gonna want to leave." If you ski you're just about at the bottom of the mountain; if you fish the Boise river runs through town and immediately above the city there are three large reservoirs; not to mention the innumerable lakes, creeks, and rivers fairly close by. If you hunt there are wilderness areas to the north. If you're single there are many, many good-looking, friendly women in the area. Oh, by the way, the folks in the unit are topnotch. You are indeed fortunate if you get picked up by that unit.
Boise is awesome. I was stationed on Gowen from 99-03. Looking forward to going back. Doesn't sound like there's to many folks from there around here. Either that or they're keeping quiet...
