    APDL Software

I have it. On Vista. No problems.

    Logbook Pro

It is their platform, so I suppose they can choose to charge whatever they see fit. However, I can choose to use the Windows-based importer that was around long before the online importer existed and thereby not support their new revenue stream while enjoying identical functionality. Cheers!

APDL now charging to import schedules

It is obviously to pay for all of the R&D they've been doing to update APDL.

    ASA/XJT contract obstacles (already)

Ha. Awesome thread creep. Five years in, and I still think they're stupid. But I do like sushi.

    Asa sked

Yup. Let the good times roll.

Skywest to buy Mesa and ExpressJet

    This right here.

    Correct runway alignment SOP

Added a "Runway __ verified" call to the checklist, confirmed by runway markings or signs and AD, ND, or mag compass heading.

Can you purposely deny a paying passenger boarding based on a grudge???

I hope so. It's the only reason I became an airline pilot.

    ExpressJet's new CEO, Republic Redux?

    That's exactly what I thought. They're onto us. :)

    Loss of Medical Insurance

Dam good advice. However many you are eating, it's not enough.

    PAX complain @ crew line-jumping

Nope. Like ERfly wrote, I was referencing IAH.

    PAX complain @ crew line-jumping

Don't get me started. Where I am based, we had our line-jumping privileges yanked earlier this year, and there are no employee lines beyond the ID checkers. Presently, my "CrewPASS NOW!" sticker is nothing more than ironic.

    "Go Direct to..."

I used to fly with a guy who always asked for direct by saying, "If it helps you out, we can go direct to..." One day, the controller responded, "It doesn't help me out one bit, but if you want, you're cleared direct to..."

Piedmont...get rid of those Dash 8's

When I flew the Dash I wore Telex 750s. Now I fly the WSCoD and I wear DC 13.4s. That is all.

Piedmont - Union says airline offered pilots 'free pass' on checkrides

Concur with the sentiments above. He was one of the couple who I actually respected in the training department.

Any former CoEx ATR drivers in the house?

    Ha ha! QFT!

    Ariat boots

I tried that. I would not reccommend it.

    Best Way to Renew CFI?

For the expiration, that sounds right. Or you could look on the certificate for the expiration date. :) I'm afraid I'm not the guy to ask for your other questions, but someone should come along to answer them pretty soon.

    Best Way to Renew CFI?

There should be plenty of responses. Personally, I've used the Gleim FIRC and ACR service the last three times I've renewed, and I plan to do so next time as well. It's a painless process, and their customer service has always been top notch.

I've been reminded how much Logbook Pro completely sucks, Alternatives please.

There's a pilot shortage coming. Believe it.
