    United may order Boeing 777-300ER

Just food for thought. Probably to replace some of the Older -400's to Asia. If true, guessing BA gave them a good deal as a filler until the X comes out. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2015-01-19/united-airlines-said-to-prepare-order-for-10-boeing-777-jets.html?cmpid=yhoo

    747 weight restrictions

I'm trying to go SFO-HKG in a week or so on United. Loads look good so far.(about 80) open seats in back. Does anyone know if the -400's get weight restricted for nonrevs going that distance? I have to imagine they go out with close to Full Fuel to make the distance with reserves. Cant imagine...

New Glitch Hits Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Well.......a small percentage of the people have all the money and its a bunch. Africa is 53 different nations and over 1 Billion people. And it represents about 20% of the worlds land mass. Additionally there are several nations that have a substantial amount of natural resources like oil...

    United goes for Boeing

Not sure if this has been posted yet but its official. United has Chosen Boeing for their narrowbody replacement. 100 737-NG and MAX. options for 100 more. Nice work United. http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/361067/20120709/boeing-airbus-737-max-a320-neo-farnborough.htm

    BART in the Bay

Bart negative. bart stops at fremont in the east bay and crosses the bay and ends at the milbrae station just past SFO. You could take bart to milbrae and use caltrain to downtown San Jose. Down the east bay there is no mass transit train system. you could try the super shuttle but thats it.

Check out quarterly ancillary revenue by airline - making serious BUCK$

Holy crap!! Something we can all agree on. ON FI.com no less. Profits=healthy companies. Healthy companies= better profit sharing. Better profit sharing= happier, more productive employees (usually). More productive employees=more profits(often but not always). Airlines making money and...

AMR bankruptcy Likely.....so says the Associated Press

You hate to see that. We all talk a lot of $hit on here but in all seriousness it sucks when anyone loses their job or gets furloughed.

    Delta Orders 100 737-900ERs

Ha. well fleet planning folks dont ask any of us at any airlines. Pilots are the last to know.

    Delta Orders 100 737-900ERs

As we all know, Delta uses lots of MD-80's/90's on the ATL- Carribbean routes and a few on shorter routes out of SLC. There are tons of routes less than 2000 NM that a -900er could work well on it seems, and do it cheaper than the mad dogs. It seems logical that that sort of thing would benefit...

Delta to Deepen Seat Cuts as Fuel Hits Profits

Well, hopefully there wont be any furloughs. but it seems like delta is constantly working on ways to streamline the operation which is mostly a good thing. Dumping the $100 seats so some college kids can go get hammered in Vegas with a bunch of buddies is not all bad, especially if theres no...

    Jumpseat Skywest

Dude. Its an RJ. as in REGIONAL JET. not national or International jet. Great for SFO-FAT or DEN-RAP, etc. Going SAT-SFO is pushing an RJ to 1350 NM. 3+ hours on that should really be an A319-320 .etc. (but thats a whole different discussion) All Im saying is going those longer routes is a...

    Jumpseat Skywest

just show up. Many of the 700 routes are weight restricted in the summer with the density altitude and long stage lengths from High Alt places like denver. With a long leg we end up going at MTOW and sometimes bump pax to carry all the fuel. Anything 2 hours or less can almost always go full...
