The system was redesigned! Two Jet bases was closed. BOS and PHL. Some runs both prop and jet was closed, but there was also some "new" ones. The most dramatic impact was the system wide rebid for the pilots. A lot of guys are moving. I suspect some will quit as a result. Next few days will...- Onlyflyfreight

AirNet has hiring pool right, now. We had one class start with 6 on the 21st of this month. We are interviewing into that pool. First you will have to fly the props, recently it has been 8-12 months for a SIC LR upgrade. Our industry seem to be tanking out for them moment. I don't know how long it will take. Very little movement at AirNet right now. Strange times.............- Onlyflyfreight

I guess I got the Base wrong. The only prop base left in FL is in FXE. Sorry! hunt234, you are correct in that do, have and probably will continue to hire directly into bases. Choosing your base is at best a little missleading! This something you would have work out before coming to class and you better get it in writing before attending. This is true, but right now it seems we have been able to fill some classes and as a result the "pressure", if you will, to fill classes has subsided some and from what I'm hearing there is also pressure from "above" to consentrate on 135 qualified applicants. It's not ORD, but MDW. Junior? I don't know, but at the moment there is movement and you should be able to get something you want after 2-4 month's. Not very realistic! Not to rain on your parade, but there are few hurdles you jump before you even get to picking a base. Yes, but it got pulled out in around 2000 and so did all of AirNet's prop airplanes. The 310 was retired intirely (from the fleet) about two years ago, I think.
