Wondering if anyone has made a transition from being a Commercial Pilot to working for the FBI. I am in such a situation and was curious if anyone had experience. Thanks.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. Ever since being laid off by CoEx I have been getting a lit bit bitter towards the aviation industry day-by-day. I think the truth is, is that I see all my friends already making 50, 60, $70,000 in another industry and loving life, while I am married and...
Redsoxfan,
Are you saying you have a class date of July 14 or is that your guess (I am a bit confused)?
I hope that the class dates don't venture further than July. I am worried about that strike that this may result in a good number of us never making it to a class. I have been furloughed...
I interviewed March 5 and I will guess July 21. How about the rest of you waiting for a class date. Guess, I don't want to hear "well, it depends on bombadier" or "I'm not really sure".
Has anyone heard anything from scheduling regarding their new hire class date. I interviewed in the beginning of March. Are there people waiting that have interviewed in January or February (trying to figure out how many people are waiting in front of me).
I haven't got a call yet either (interviewed March 5). Timeline: Faxed resume in early December, was scheduled for a early Feb. class but had to reschedule due to death in the family. Interviewed and received the letter 8 business days later (11 total days). I have contacts within their...
I was wondering if any first year Comair first officers had finished filing their taxes and could share what their yearly income was for their first year. I am curious as I was recently hired and am trying to set up a budget for living in Cin. (rent, etc). Thanks.
Asking the question on the message board, "what do I study before getting to class?" gets you the answer "make sure you have your memory items, call-outs, and flows down." But how are we supposed to get ahead of the game and go over these if we can't get someone to post or private message the...
I personally know of five guys who all busted out of CRJ training with ACA in the past six months and I know three who quit before they were about to bust out. Their complaints were poor training scheduling and extremely harsh instructors and check airmen. They described the fact that the check...
I was wondering if it is worth it to by some items such as:
1. Basic overview of systems on the CRJ-200
2. Cockpit poster of the CRJ-200
3. Question Review of the CRJ-200
I found this stuff available through avsoft.com. Let me know if someone has had previous experience with these items.
I...
But....
Starchkr - refer to this post "Seminole Info.", this is why I am confused....numerous people on this post insist that the Seminole has 3 hydraulic systems (gear, prop, brake). Let me know what you think.

So, are you saying the prop should not be discussed when describing the hydraulic system? I have always answered this questions with braking down the 3 items (brakes, prop, and gear).
Answer
My answer would be:
"The Seminole has 3 separate hydraulic systems: brakes, propeller, and landing gear.
The brakes run off of a master cylinder that is linked to both pedals and hooked to the brake pads.
The propeller is run off a large spring and counterweights that are constantly...
...much less switch more than once. Luckily, I had the same instructor throughout the training, and there were those times that every other word was F**K. But, sometimes it grills a point in your head, and when your on that initial sim check and you are about to make that same mistake you have...
Pushing their luck
Percentages will tell you that with that amount of flying time without rest, it is only a matter of time until an accident occurs. Especially flying a plane without autopilot, fatigue from both physical and mental tasks will compound.
