Could any of you guys kindly recommend a cheap crashpad in the DTW area? Army barracks style bunks no problem (like I have a choice).
I have a car there, so can help others out with transportation.
Please PM me if you can recommend something.
Thanks in advance amigos!
I let my CFI/II/MEI lapse a few years back (still kicking myself), and will need to get reinstated. I haven't flown anything with a fan on the front for about 7 years- anyone else been there? I'd like to work with a local instructor/flight school to get some dual, then find an examiner for the...
Anyone know of an AME that does business on weekends? I used to go to one who practiced out of his home, but he's not around anymore. Looking around IN, MI, IL, OH
Thanks
Just wondering if any Saturn or TIA alum are out there- flying or not.
I met alot of the guys when I was a kid and dad flew the Hercs. BTW,
he went from Aaxico to Saturn to TIA to TransAm & retired before the company folded.
During simulator checkrides, multiple unrelated systems malfunctions are generally avoided. At least that's been my experience. A total electrical failure combined with an unrelated hydraulic loss would be a bit extreme on a checkride, I'm sure all would agree. I'm wondering though, where in the...
I've done some searches on this topic, but haven't found much info.
In a nutshell, you've been residing overseas as an expatriate, and you return to the States, then you'll have to spend at least 5 consecutive years here before you can fly with a carrier that does postal or other US...
I've done some searches on it, with no luck.
If you've spent any amount time residing overseas as an expat, and you return to the States, then you'll have to wait 5 years before you can apply with any carrier doing US postal contracts, such as FDX. This also applies to ACMI carriers doing...
Just wondern' how you liked the airplane (from a pilot's standpoint), and whether you think it'll make a 'comeback' here as 50 seat RJs get parked over the next few years.
They seem kinda popular overseas. :pimp:
I posted this under medical- but nooo response. So, can anybody recommend a 'fair and balanced' AME in HOU? Preferably west side, or Katy area. It'll be a class one with EKG. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I'm looking for a fair and balanced AME (preferably a fellow pilot) in Houston. Katy area or West HOU would be best. I'm getting a class 1.
Thanks.
Hi, any recommendations on where to live in Houston area? I'm finally getting back into flying- after having taken a hit, and I'm looking for something affordable. Probably rent first, buy later. Will work out of Hobby. If you know of any pilot friendly landlords I'd much appreciate it. Thx.
Anyone know how things are with their recent mgmt changes? They're apparently looking for Capts. and a D.O.
Any ideas on pay? Where do they send their engines for overhaul- someplace decent, (like Tulsa), or to the lowest bidder?
Any info would be appreciated.
Anyone know if a shengen or French visa is required in advance of flying through Europe. I'm delivering an aircraft from US to Africa and won't be spending much time in Europe.
I just know that the rules change alot, and France is funny about flying through their airspace w/o proper docs...
I was wondering which airlines/countries out there simply validate your existing FAA (ICAO) license and med without going thru their own lenghty DGCA or CAA exams and extra whatnots.
I'm not too crazy about India, yet I believe for contract pilots they'll pretty much give you a pass based on...
Got my class I the other day, including my first post-40 yr old EKG (the last one I took was at 35). Towards the end of the exam, he flipped through my paperwork, EKG chart, ect. and I asked him if everything look alright- he said, "yeah, it's just that they (FAA) are on a witch-hunt nowadays...
Do non-US carriers include credit history in their background checks (as do all the formerly bankrupt US airlines)?
I would imagine they'd focus mainly on accidents/incidents, interpol crime records, ect.
Any info would be appreciated.
Can anyone out there comment on the health insurance/ health care you are receiving from any one of the non-US carriers, as compared to what you had in the US?
Do you have to deal with all the BS such as COBRA, high deductibles, copays, and skyrocketing premiums that are deducted from...
...oral/ride as a whole went well- maybe there was just one deficient area that needs ironing out. Obviously, if a guy just doesn't get it, or has a p*ss poor attitude, he probably SHOULD be shown the door. I've personally had a good pass rate so far, but I sure don't like the 'one strike you're...
