I thought that XO and TMC had an agreement that stated TMC wouldn't go into the supermid/cabin class segment in exchange for all the XO trips. Has that expired?

There is no rule that says that you can't change your destination enroute (as long as the airport to which you are changing to is listed in ops specs C070)... as long as you have the fuel to fly to the destination thence fly to the farthest alternate listed.
Are you looking at booking availability in Sabre or something? Those are fare buckets and by no means show the actual loads. The best thing is to call.
