Just talking to a buddy of mine waiting to depart out of ORD and it sounds like it is a mess there.
For grins, check out SKW5886 on flightaware. It's a Madison-O'Hare flight and he is weaving something fierce there at 9000 trying to get to ORD.
All,
Curious as to some stories of precarious, brainfartish, or funny sim stories you might want to share. I'll start:
Last week at Flight Safety I was doing the ole' LOC 27 circle to 18R at KMEM. My instructor put a L CHIP light on outside the FAF. As that is an amber light I continued the...
I need somebody with a Airliners.net account (if there are any on this board) to give this SJS candidate a real taste.....TIA.....Oh and by the way, he's willing to not care what he makes to be a pilot.

Since I'm so disgusted by the American news media, I thought I'd post a quiz. These are 4 headlines from different countries. Can you guess the CNN headline?
Jet crashes in flames in Nigeria
Nigeria jet crash 'kills dozens'
Toll rises in Nigerian air crash
Nigerian plane crash kills...
For those of you out there (avbug, DC4boy, etc.) fighting fires as I am, this comes as a big blow. Luckily the pilot, ATGS, and trainee all survived. This one hit close to home for me, as I am down in the same area and flying an Air Attack platform. Let's keep them in our thoughts and hope...
So if you hear the following from Tower, where are you?
"Climb VFR to FL180 and maintain FL230, climb on the west side of the valley"
And feel free to stump us on other airports, if you can... ;-)
Cheers,

Anyone out there flying fires this season? I just reverted back to Air Attack this past week, as our jet is in the process of being sold. I spent the better part of the last 2 weeks flying on the Southern Nevada Complex. On a side note, it sure was nice to have more heavies to help suppress...
Just passing through Embraer's website and noticed that they are currently marketing a "Light Jet" and a "Very Light Jet". I didn't realize you could shrink a ERJ-135 that much. It sure looks strange.

Not that it is going to happen for sure, but I want to be prepared if it does. And guys, please don't laugh, 'cause at least they're kerosene burners.
Does anyone have performance specs and comments on a C501 and a MS760 Paris Jet?
Thanks,

Anyone know why the CJ3 doesn't have the paddle type reversers? I've seen a few now, and none of them have any type of reversing capability.
Thanks,

I was just hoping someone could shed some light on this nose wheel contraption. I have never seen a mod like this. Could it be a gravel kit for a Citation?

I was wondering if anyone has had a mishap that they would like to forget while playing professional pilot.
Today I was "disembarking" my tiny Citation and rolled my ankle underneath me. I fell to the asphalt in pain. I had a Gulfstream pilot (who gave me a 10 for dexterity), a line guy, and...
Hi All,
I was hoping someone would have more information of the P-3 (N926AU) that crashed yesterday. I had the privilege of spending a few days with the crew from that aircraft last year on a fire.

I thought this was funny, so I thought I'd share. We were on Oakland Center the other day and heard the following:
CTR: JetBlue 123, I need you to pick it up. What can you give me?
JB: Sir, we can give you whatever you want.
CTR: No, I need to know what can you give me?
JB: We can...
Guys,
I did a search on this and dived into Part 25 before starting this thread, but I can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for.
I know what the definition of the segments are and requirements to be met, but herein lies my problem. Here's an example:
An airport's DP requires a 12.5%...
Guys,
Sorry for posting this here, but I thought it might get the most looks in the shortest amount of time.
Today for the first time our UNS-1K cycled to the next waypoint 12 miles prior to reaching that fix. It did it 3 times on two different flights BUT only when I entered a STAR or an...
