I say it won't be $7.1 million but something less. If SWA single engine taxis they will either have to slow down (and we all know this is not going to happen....) or burn more gas in the one engine to maintain their current high speeds. Either would make the savings less..... -

I was totally engaged in the conversation and all three SWA pilots were in agreement the letter was a precursor of management asking for pay cuts and concessions. They were not happy with what they perceived as the state of your airline or management. You and many other SWA guys on this board... -

It was flight 1518 on 1/10. There were the two pilots, another SWA Captain also jumpseating and myself in the cockpit. Both the Captains had been at SWA for 25+ years and the FO was 10+ years. All three said they got the same letter - it was either from management or your union, I not sure... -

Southwest's new plan to screw Airtran pilots
SWA requires a type rating. Some already have it and some don't. Those that don't have to pay to get it and therefore have to pay to get their job. Not as blatant or as much as GIA was, but they are still paying money out of their pocket to get into a SWA right seat. -
