UAL - 787 out of service through at least 5 Jun

    Hawaiian's doesn't. We'd get paid.

Seniority list at the new AA?

Because the USAirways East and USAPA lack of integrity affect every airline pilot.

Has the 'Southwest Effect' run its course?

Yeah...anyone that doesn't think SWA's doo doo don't stink or doesn't believe everyone wants to work for SWA is a basher...

    SWA plan for 15% ROIC

I say it won't be $7.1 million but something less. If SWA single engine taxis they will either have to slow down (and we all know this is not going to happen....) or burn more gas in the one engine to maintain their current high speeds. Either would make the savings less.....

US Air, AMR Merger "within weeks"

That's kind of what I meant by choice of seniority numbers. That versus "you're active USAir so it's that number only". Of course your active number will probably be higher than your furloughed number.

US Air, AMR Merger "within weeks"

TWA Dude - are you still furloughed AA? Think you'll get a choice of seniority numbers?

US Air, AMR Merger "within weeks"

My friend at AA has said to me that APA already plans on using the Nic for the SLI.

Hawaiian Adding A321 Neos? Didn't See That One Coming...

ScoreboardII - to add to what Dan said about codesharing with SWA. I asked Dunkerely when he was in my cockpit about it when it was a hot topic 3 or 4 years ago. Dunkerley said we did not need the codeshare to fill our planes so it didn't make any sense. He said it would be basically giving...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

One last post. I am not saying all SWA pilots are arrogant, just certain frequent posters on this board. The vast majority of SWA pilots I meet are great guys just thankful to have a good job and enjoying life. I've had many beers with SWA pilots during layovers and many conversations with...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

I'm just answering to respond to an obvious falsehood. I'm not General Lee. (And you accuse others of making things up....) I understand....if it's not your version of the story it's neither truthful or honest. I'd call it delusional, not bizarre. You can throw jabs and everyone else is just...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

SWA Bubba, SWAdude and Dash Power - I'm out. I'm not going to go around post after post with you like you all seem to enjoy. I've said what I think and you've said what you think. You've criticized me and I've criticized you. More post aren't going to change anything so I'm done. Enjoy your...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

Three longtime SWA pilots all saying the same thing and in total agreement does not seem like "crap" to me. It sounds like there is a possibility of truth. It was relevant to the discussion so I passed it on. Since this blew up last night, I also talked with a friend who I flew with at...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

They signed an agreement stating if a single list could not be agreed upon, than it would go to arbitration. Then they told the AT pilots if they went to arbitration they would never combine the operation and kill off their airline until they were all jobless. I guess if you can ignore the...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

I do not love hearing about anyone taking pay cuts or concessions. I understand the whole pattern bargaining concept and that my pay is somewhat tied to what the other majors are paying. I may not have a dog in this particular fight. I am employed by a small airline that has a good...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

I was totally engaged in the conversation and all three SWA pilots were in agreement the letter was a precursor of management asking for pay cuts and concessions. They were not happy with what they perceived as the state of your airline or management. You and many other SWA guys on this board...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

No misinterpretation. One basically said "they are going to come after our pay and ask for cuts, the writing is on the wall" and the other two agreed. I then said "I thought you guys had a good relationship with your management to whicxh the answer was "we did, but not any more". Maybe they...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

It was flight 1518 on 1/10. There were the two pilots, another SWA Captain also jumpseating and myself in the cockpit. Both the Captains had been at SWA for 25+ years and the FO was 10+ years. All three said they got the same letter - it was either from management or your union, I not sure...

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

I just jumped in a SWA cockpit. They were talking about a letter all the pilots got from management saying that the company was getting ready to ask for pay cuts and concessions. Maybe it's not going to be such a big pay raise for the AT guys....

SWA to speed up Airtran integration.....article

Everyone on this board knows that this statement is pure BS. SWA management put a gun to the Air Tran pilots head and said sign or you're dead. Even my die=hard kool-aid drinking SWA pilot friends will readily admit this. Money is not everything and it is a matter of perspective. Obviously...

Southwest's new plan to screw Airtran pilots

SWA requires a type rating. Some already have it and some don't. Those that don't have to pay to get it and therefore have to pay to get their job. Not as blatant or as much as GIA was, but they are still paying money out of their pocket to get into a SWA right seat.
