An interesting conversation I had with a fo pilot recently. He called to check on getting out of phenom and spoke with high level manager. That manager told him that seniority list was unfair. With his hire date there should only have been about 100 flex guys placed in front of him instead of...
More from KR treatment of Citation Air pilots:
But even getting to that point would be a long shot. Remember what would have to happen:
a. Citation Air Pilots would have to find representation to sue.
b. They would have to fund a lawsuit with a very uncertain outcome.
c...
KR own words from his letter about Citation Air:
As some of you know, I have a law degree. Despite what you think, the study of law is not about memorizing laws nor is it about knowing how laws are implemented and enforced. The study of law is focused on understanding that most legal...
It doesn't matter which Teamster was leading us they wouldn't trust him. It doesn't matter if it was ALPA as a union they still would be doing this and the verbiage would be the same. Why? Because KR at one time said he would shut down FO if a union was voted in. That is a quote by the way. You...

U.S. Pilot Groups Urge Flexjet Pilots To Keep Union
Pilot groups across the U.S. sent letters urging the pilots at Flexjet and Flight Options—collectively known as OneSky—to vote against a “management supported” decertification effort of their union, IBT Local 1108. These groups...
Very good post. I hope that especially those on the flex side think long and hard before voting no. There are plenty of FO pilots now flying the flex planes. Please reach out to them to find out what it was like without the union. Sure the union so far not been able to do much for the flex side...
Don't forget the extra year of seniority pay and the fact that the pay scales are protected by a CONTRACT! Something every CEO, COO or upper management personnel has.
A great post:
Seniority Protection and Furlough/Recall Rights
The conversation should really be over after just this one item. The company has shown in the past that they don’t follow seniority with upgrades. There are four pilots in the Gulfstream with seniority numbers higher than 500. Nine...
Actually NJ helped form the 1108. They changed from their local that was small and didn't really understand what was going on. 1108 helped them get their first big contract. Later they decided to keep the 22 percent that went to national Teamsters and formed their own in house union BUT they had...
The one thing that I found interesting in RH post is how much he blames the union for what he calls a lousy contract and how poorly the union negotiating team did. A couple of thoughts, first it happened during one of the worst economic downturn in the history of the US. Second it was a first...
Another important fact. ALPA never gave the IBT the time of day when they were forming the 1108 chapter. They have no interest in representing 600 poorly paid pilots!!!! It is an out right fabrication that they would even consider us. If the union is voted out the ONLY possiblity for it to come...
There are many more small 135 pilots that would be affected by this type of change out there than would be affected at Netjets. I seriously doubt that the faa would make a broad change to the rule causing turmoil among them.
