COMAIR Pilots get $31,000 each severance

FOs will get $8326 at the top of the scale, which I believe we are all topped out....before taxes. At least they're paying 100% accrued sick, which is surprising to me. We're probably all at the 3-week vacation accrual, too; so that, and any vaycay that is left over from this year...

Ahh, the good ole' Kremlin. Guess DS will get his old office back!

Atlas Air to start hiring in the fall

I too took the test at the end of Nov, passed it, then submitted the driver record thingy and didn't hear anything at all after that! I hope they're classy and keep us who were previously screened. I heard a few in our position that had interview dates in Jan that were cancelled got call-backs...

The Highest-Paying Jobs You Can Get Without a Bachelor's Degree

Glad to see my old career in #8 & #10 are still a viable option in 'life after Comair!'

    The end of Comair

Looks like a lot of OH flights being replaced by just about every other DCI carrier in the Oct/Nov time frame. Doesn't look good from my point of view... Several flights being replaced in the Sep time frame, too. So, we CRJ guys may have Sep off just like a lot had the last half of Aug off.

    Delta travel priviledges

Yeah, but then once on DS, you have to hang around unless you're extremely lucky and can commute when a trip is assigned in your DS window. Kind of like a really short long-call! No thanks!

    Delta travel priviledges

Scheduling supposedly got whacked by mainline for doing this and it seems like NRPS commute option is out the window. When our trips don't pass through our domicile (DTW) in all 4 days, save for the 1st outbound and last inbound, making any above-and-beyond (beyond the 2 options) effort will...

Any 76-seater FO's getting called from Emirates?

We've had several 100/200 guys get interviews and jobs both there and Quatar with no problems...no 70/90 time at all. Several have been downgrades, however, and had at least a type-rating.

    TSA brilliance strikes again!

I think the dog-and-pony show is over, at least at CVG. Went through there a couple times in the last few days with crap strewn throughout my bags with no problem. I think they may have been shown the folly of their ways after a few days of experience with a de-hubbed airport with a slew of...

    AE International Jumpseat

Go to any AA ticket counter and see if your carrier is authorized for int'l j/s. My beef was that they consider Canada as domestic, but j/s int'l and I could never get a ride JFK-YUL. However, I brought plenty of AA'ers out of YUL on OH, go figure!

Why does USAir care how much dual 152 time I have? Geez!! Prepare for a COMPLETE breakdown of times by all aircraft you've flown. TT, PIC, SIC/Dual prop & jet...ugh!!

    DTW SIDA Badge (ASA)

Seems about half or more OH don't have the SIDA, & we've been there since Sep. Mainly just the folks who drive. I've half-a$$ed tried to get one during a sit, but with the SIDA folks on gov't hours, and the fact you have to round-trip it to the North Terminal, I've been unsuccessful and...
