So pilots are being underpaid in this line of work too? $40,000 is lousy pay for the risk taken; at least if the load is of any considerable volume.
I thought the tethered Aerostats would make it risky to fly up close to the ADIZ.
The DoubleTree radio alarm you can't even set the time. Last time I was in a DoubleTree... the time was wrong, and after 10 minutes of looking around for buttons, google told me it wasn't possible for guests to set the time.
Told the front desk... that I couldn't figure out how to adjust it...
vgt, north town, lone mountain.. is a violation hot spot. Always listening to guys getting heat from ATC after busting B by altitude or late turn after takeoff.
Actually, some people have SIC'd in Navajos lately, but that's only special case.
The upgrade times from Baron to Lear SIC have been as low as 8 months, but typically 12-14 months recently. Its getting tougher now though, but 18 months is still doable.
Basically, they'll always have an...
Hi,
Confirmed: you'll easily make 38,000 at Airnet. With the sign on bonus ($3000 for 135 mins) and Per Diem, you'll make 38K (35+3) even with a low time run, and easily top 40K with a 5-day run or a floater position (per diem).
There's a slight risk you'd get a run that only makes you about...
I'm the guy who flew my butt off there. I can second the recommendation, this is a great place to fly and get some fun- and turbine time, I'm sorry I'm leaving (I wanted to stay longer), but circumstances made the move inevitable.
For some time, in my very early days, I was afraid of well, hitting the ground, and so I was scared the last second of the flare before hitting the ground...kinda the same scare people have with firing a gun...pulling the trigger; will it hurt...
Just doing it multiple times, and getting more...
Ask if you can rent the old crappy Frasca 141 at Phoenix East, and see if you can bring your own instructor...
Gotta have instructor with you in the sim for it to count.... I screwed up on that, shooting six quick one's solo in the sim seven months ago, having not read the regulations... so...
They cover the direct cost of renting a U-Haul? I'm looking at a quote from U-Haul of about $1,600. Add some boxes, gasoline, bubble plastic etc, and the 2000-mile move will cost about $2400.
Is time off for relocation given immediately after passing training/being assigned a base? (Or does...
I've been getting offers in the mail saying $40K, $45-50, $50-56 with all benefits. But the local flight school is still only $17/hour with no benefits (and thus their instructors are worked really hard, which is the main reason I don't apply).
Best offer I think was from IFTA in Bakersfield...
Can anyone tell me what runs would be available in Denver, CO, for a new hire? I'm thinking about applying...and hope for a base within 1500 miles of Las Vegas...
If you're looking for cargo version, there are frequent postings at www.dropzone.com classifieds section for lease or sale of Caravans converted to jump ships. You could probably get a much cheaper Caravan there, if you don't mind it being banged up.
